Adidas Is Celebrating Its 75th Anniversary With Some Sick Limited-Edition Kicks

Adidas is celebrating a very big birthday this year. And while the German sportswear giant could’ve just dropped one special sneaker to celebrate, Adidas just announced a whole 75th-anniversary collection instead—a full line-up that includes three of its biggest silhouettes in history. We’re talking the Samba (of course!), the Gazelle, and the Handball Spezial.

The special-edition Samba lands in a classic ‘Core Black’ and ‘Cloud White’ color combo. Decked out in leather that’s apparently extra luxe compared to the standard pairs, it switches out the usual gum-rubber sole in favor of an all-black layer, the same sole that recently made a cameo on the ‘Black Croc’ edition. It shouldn’t come as too much of a shocker, but this is probably the one that’ll sell out first.

The 75th-anniversary Gazelle (Paul Mescal’s favorite style) and Handball Spezial, on the other hand, both come in suede. And while the Samba keeps it dark and moody, these two like it bright and poppy, with vibrant ‘Team College Gold’ and ‘College Royal’ colorways. All three trainers are debossed with a massive “75” around the left heel (as a nod to the big anniversary, obvs), and “08.18.24” etched into the inside collar to mark the official date. They’re also packed in limited edition shoeboxes and come with exclusive insoles that were created just for this collection, which is always nice.
