LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is out for Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks and has no timeline for a return, Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank announced Sunday. The six-time All-Star has been dealing with right knee inflammation.

“He is not playing today,” Frank said of Leonard. “He wants to play. But it was obvious in Game 3 that his mobility was severely restricted. So, organizationally we just made a decision that he’s out. … When’s he coming back? I can’t tell you a timeline. I wish I had a crystal ball. Until he can show that he can make all the movements that he needs to make, that’s when he’ll come back.”

Leonard finished with nine points, nine rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes of action against the Mavericks in Game 3. He played his first game of this season’s playoffs in Game 2 when he had 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals in 35 minutes.

The two-time Finals MVP missed the Clippers’ final eight games of the regular season due to his right knee injury. LA trails Dallas 2-1 heading into a pivotal Game 4 without Leonard.
