Dodgers vs Yankees World Series live updates: Game 4 score, how to watch, predictions and odds

This hyped World Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees could be over before the clock strikes midnight in the Bronx.

Somewhere at Yankee Stadium, champagne and beer will be waiting Tuesday night as the Dodgers attempt to sweep the Yankees and win their eighth World Series. We’ll bring you every twist and turn as The Athletic’s live coverage continues with Game 4 — the Yankees’ first last chance in this World Series.

We’ll have two more major leaguers joining to provide player prospective: 11-year MLB outfielder Tommy Pham and Chicago White Sox catcher Max Stassi. Pham, whose Kansas City Royals were knocked out by the Yankees in the ALDS, has a .315 batting average in 37 career postseason games. He also understands the feeling of facing elimination in late October, as he was on the losing side of last year’s World Series. Stassi returns after making his live-blog debut in Game 2. He and Pham both spent part of this season in the White Sox organization. You’ll hear more from both of them in the 6 p.m. ET Q&A and throughout Game 4.

Retired MLB umpires Dale Scott and Brian Gorman are also back with expert analysis of the umpiring moments that matter. Scott, in particular, had some delightful contributions in Game 3 about Gavin Lux’s upheld out call at home plate, scattershot command and Jazz Chisholm Jr. protesting called strikes that were … probably correct … because the Yankees had gotten robbed earlier: “That has a snowball effect where nobody believes even good pitches.”

We want to hear from you. Send us a tweet or post a comment in the “Discuss” tab on this page, and it may show up here. We’ll excerpt reader contributions a couple times throughout each game. You can also email us over at mlblive@theathletic.com.
