F1 Saudi Arabian GP live updates: Follow latest from qualifying and FP3 in Jeddah today

A big welcome to you all and thank you for joining us as Formula One barrels through Round 5 of the 2025 season.

It’s Jeddah and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where McLaren again looked like the dominant force after Friday’s free practice sessions.

Throw in Lewis Hamilton’s early struggles at Ferrari, Yuki Tsunoda’s disappointing crash late in FP2, and the continuing noise over Max Verstappen’s Red Bull future beyond this season, and we are not short of talking points as we head into Saturday’s action.

Although, we very rarely are with F1.

Today it’s the final hour of free practice, swiftly followed by qualifying for tomorrow’s grand prix.

Our correspondent Luke Smith is trackside for every session and media conference, with the rest of The Athletic’s F1 writers and editors watching on and getting involved, as we approach a fascinating day at Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

So don’t go anywhere, because we’ve got you covered from here.
