New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito left the team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens in the second quarter and has been ruled out after being evaluated for a concussion.
DeVito went to the locker room as the Giants took possession right before halftime. Backup quarterback Tim Boyle entered for the final play of the half and remained in following halftime. Sunday’s game was DeVito’s first in three weeks after missing the previous two games with a forearm contusion. Drew Lock started those games but was sidelined for this week a heel injury.
DeVito guided the Giants on a scoring drive to get New York on the board and put his team within a touchdown at 14-7. He was 10-of-13 passing for 68 yards before exiting.
As a starter, DeVito is 3-4 in his career and 0-1 in 2024. The 26-year-old quarterback has 1,358 passing yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions in his NFL career.
Boyle is the fourth quarterback that the Giants have used in 2024 along with DeVito, Lock and Daniel Jones. The Giants are the six-year veteran’s sixth team as he previously played for the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. He played two games with the Dolphins this year and threw for 153 yards. In his career, the 30-year-old has 1,087 passing yards, four touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

More QB shuffling for the Giants
It’s become a game in and of itself trying to keep track of the Giants quarterback since Jones was released a month ago. The Giants leapfrogged backup Lock in favor of third stringer DeVito in the team’s first game without Jones. But DeVito was injured so the Giants had to turn to Lock on a short week. While Lock lasted two games in a row, he was then injured in the team’s loss to the Saints last weekend. Lock was in a walking boot until Friday, forcing the Giants to turn back to DeVito. Now, there’s Boyle, who was only brought in once Jones was benched for the final time this season. — Charlotte Carroll, Giants beat writer
