Liverpool’s Conor Bradley set to miss 2-3 weeks with ankle injury

Liverpool expect Conor Bradley to miss between two and three weeks with an ankle injury picked up at the weekend.

The 20-year-old defender limped out of Sunday’s defeat at home to Crystal Palace just minutes into the second half after injuring his ankle, with Trent Alexander-Arnold substituted on for his first Premier League appearance since February 10.

Following assessment the club expect him to be sidelined for the remainder of April but should be fit to return to feature over the final part of the run-in.

Liverpool travel to Fulham on Sunday before Premier League meetings with Everton on Wednesday, April 24 and West Ham United on Saturday, April 27.

“Conor overstretched his foot slightly,” Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said after the game. “The first moment and what Conor felt didn’t look great, (but) now I heard a little bit that it’s settled quite quickly.

“I don’t know. Is the ligament damaged or not? I don’t know, so we will get this information tomorrow or Tuesday, but it was very painful for him so that’s not cool.”

The Northern Ireland international — who made his Liverpool debut during the 2021-22 campaign and spent the following season on loan at Bolton Wanderers — has made 22 appearances for Klopp’s side this season.

Liverpool are next in action with their trip to Italy to face Atalanta in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie, in which they trail 3-0 after their first leg defeat at Anfield.
