Rissa Mananquil Trillo Named Editor-in-Chief of Allure Philippines



Rissa Mananquil Trillo, an entrepreneur, columnist and former model, has been appointed editor-in-chief of Allure Philippines, a new local edition of the global beauty magazine expected to launch in March 2025.

The Philippines-born beauty and fashion industry veteran started her career as a top model in the country, serving as president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines for five years, before moving into the media industry where she penned a column for several years at national broadsheet The Philippine Star.

In 2013, Mananquil Trillo co-founded the Filipino beauty brand Happy Skin, helping to run it until her exit in 2021, according to local media reports. Her entrepreneurial journey, which earned Mananquil Trillo awards from both the local franchise of EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year and Go Negosyo, was captured in the 2019 book she authored called, “Read My Lips: What It Takes to Be a World-Class Homegrown Brand”.

“Rissa’s expertise and commitment to both beauty and advocacy will undoubtedly make Allure Philippines a source of inspiration and authority for our audience,” said Archie Carrasco, chairman and CEO of Mega Global Licensing Inc., the Manila-based firm that holds the rights to publish the local edition of the magazine under a license agreement with Condé Nast. “I am excited to have Rissa leading Allure Philippines, bringing her deep-rooted passion and vision for beauty and wellness into this new edition.”

Carrasco is the founder, chairman and CEO of media group AGC Power Holdings Corp., parent company of Mega Global Licensing Inc., One Mega Group and Modern Media Inc. AGC’s magazine portfolio includes Mega, Lifestyle Asia, Bluprint, The Business Manual, as well as local and regional franchises of international titles such as Vogue Philippines, Nylon Manila, Billboard Philippines and titles that are expected to launch such as VMan Southeast Asia, Allure Philippines and Rolling Stone Philippines.

Once launched, the Filipino edition of Allure will be the third after the US and South Korean editions. The new title, set to be published in English across print, digital and social platforms, “will pioneer a new era of beauty expertise for Filipinos,” said Mananquil Trillo.

Leading Allure Philippines allows me to shape how Filipinos see themselves through stories of beauty, wellness, authenticity, diversity, inclusivity, social responsibility and empowerment.
