The SEC dominated the Women’s College World Series selection show, nabbing seven of the top eight seeds in this year’s tournament. For the third year in a row, a different team topped the bracket. For the first time in program history, it was Texas A&M.
Texas A&M (45-9) snagged the No. 1 overall seed, which was announced during the selection show on ESPN on Sunday night, and Oklahoma (45-7) followed as the No. 2 seed.
Oklahoma is looking for its fifth straight title. Sam Landry — the right-handed pitcher transfer from Louisiana — leads the new-look Sooners, who returned only a handful of starters from their 2024 title run.

Kicking things off, the top 16 seeds host the regional round, in which 16 four-team pods play a double-elimination tournament. The winner of each regional advances to the super regional round.
The remaining 16 teams play a best-of-3 series in the super regional round, where the higher of the two seeds plays host. The eight super regional winners move on to the WCWS for another double-elimination tournament. The final two teams then play a best-of-3 series for the national championship.
The regional round runs May 16-18 and the super regionals follow May 22-25. The WCWS starts May 29 and ends June 5-6.
