The PWHL announced a blockbuster trade on Monday night, with the Toronto Sceptres sending longtime Team Canada defender Jocelyne Larocque to the Ottawa Charge.
Ottawa also acquired forward Victoria Bach in exchange for defender Savannah Harmon and forward Hayley Scamurra.
It’s the biggest trade in the history of the PWHL with a combined four Olympic medals — and 21 at women’s world championships — changing hands.
TRADE: The Ottawa Charge and the Toronto Sceptres have completed the first trade of the 2024-25 season.

Larocque’s inclusion is the most shocking element of the deal. The 36-year-old was Toronto’s second-overall pick at the inaugural PWHL draft and has logged massive minutes on the team’s top pair with Renata Fast. The duo have long been a go-to combination for coach Troy Ryan, both for Toronto and Team Canada. Larocque is in the second year of a three-year deal signed ahead of the 2024 season and was wearing an “A” for Toronto.
